Hi crafters. A while back, I did this background to experiment with colour and technique for a painting I wanted to do. I used acrylic paints and plastic dowels. The current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (Art journal) got me thinking I should finish it off as a page. I took some Kaisercraft and Sizzix dies (Stitched circles, Sketch circle and Circle mask) and cut some white watercolour paper that had some stain on one edge. I added some Winnie and Walter circle stamping and teal letters from Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Classic lower dies. This is the painting I did after the experiments. I had bought the canvas years ago…

Hi crafters. I started this card by applying gesso, then texture paste to some cardstock. I then applied various acrylic paints. When the paint was dry I added embossing pen to the texture paste stars, followed by silver powder. I coloured a paper doll with water soluble crayons. The sentiment was cut from silver glitter cardstock with the Simon says Stamp You’re a star die. I added the extra silver stars from the sentiment die along with some star frames from an old Provo Craft die. I am entering this card in the Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Reach for the stars. Happy crafting, Christine

Hi crafters. I’m combining a couple of challenges today. The common factor is the starfish. I found these secondhand a while ago and this seemed the perfect opportunity to use them. I started with a gessoed piece of card stock and added texture paste through the Kaisercraft ripples and Funky Fossil micro dots stencils. I then covered the panel with acrylic paints. When the paint was dry I replaced the ripples stencil and added Seafoam glitter paste from BoBunny over the top in places. At the bottom, I scraped the glitter paste so that the bumps from the stencil would still show. I wiped some silver glitter glue over other…

Happiest of birthdays
Hi crafters. I played with some paint again for the Simon says Stamp Monday challenge (play with paint). I gessoed a piece of paper and applied texture paste through the Every Angle stencil from A Colorful Life. Before the paste dried, I sprinkled on some Lime mixed media powder from Ranger. After heating the powder, the panel was roughly painted with acrylic paint. Paint was wiped off the raised areas. The panel was spattered with white and teal acrylic paint. Foliage from Tim Holtz Large Funky Florals and Kaisercraft vines was painted and spattered. A paper doll was set amongst the foliage and a foiled sentiment from Spellbinders More Sentiments…

Hi crafters. The Simon says Stamp Monday challenge is currently playing with paint. This card has a background made by scraping fluoro IKEA paint across paper. I then blue hot foiled a Spellbinders foiled brushstrokes and stripes Glimmer plate. On top of that I foiled a sentiment from Spellbinders More Sentiments. I added a few gold sequins. Happy crafting, Christine

Stitched party time
Hi crafters. I stitched another rainbow using the retired Paper Smooches cross stitch die. I embossed some bursts from Visible image Rays of light, as well as a sentiment from Paper Smooches Birthday sampler stamp set, with gold powder onto acetate. I thought the sentiment was hard to read so I embossed over the top in white. I cut out the acetate and stitched it to the panel. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Paper Smooches Rainbows challenge: Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Bright and cheerful. Happy crafting, Christine

Hi crafters. There’s something therapeutic about stitching a rainbow. The current Paper Smooches challenge is Rainbows so I decided to stitch one using the retired Paper Smooches cross stitch die. I used floss in bright colours and worked my way along the panel. I cut the panel so I had room to stamp underneath if I wanted. When I finished I considered stamping a sentiment along the bottom, sticking a diecut on top, but I eventually decided to emboss a sentiment from Paper Smooches Birthday sampler onto acetate. I cut the acetate with a banner die and sewed it down on the left side. I am entering this card in…

Rainbow triangles
Hi crafters. This card is all based around the Paper Smooches triangles die. First I cut it from thick watercolour Paper and scribbled Arteza water based markers in rainbow order down it. I did this with the little bits still intact, so I have little triangles for another card. I also cut this die from sticky-backed fun foam. I gently laid the foam onto a thick piece of clear acetate and cut around the acetate. I used this as a stamp for the top and bottom of the card. I drew lines and worked out where to place my diecut in the centre of a 5×7 cardbase. I then put…

Hi crafters. I wanted to try some more hotfoiling. I took a kraft 5×7 card base and used rose gold foil with the Spellbinders scattered dots pattern glimmer plate. The star was hand cut from photo paper that I had previously experimented on with spray stains. After cutting it I hotfoiled on a Universal crafts hotfoil plate with copper chocolate foil. I did some distressed foiling of the star edges with a zig glue pen and rose gold foil. The star is popped up on brown fun foam and foam tape. This was super quick to make. I like the foil on kraft. I am entering this card in the…
